Now we're on pins and needles until April, although I've no doubt she'll be accepted, the financial situation is up in the air. December 1 was the deadline for early application. VCU holds a number of scholarships (full) for art applicants who apply early. The only problem with this is that we haven't been able to afford to get her testing done, so she won't take the ACT test until next Saturday. She was instructed to add a notation to her application explaining the financial burden our family has been under and that submitting her test grades late wouldn't automatically exclude her from the scholarship. I've got fingers, toes and yes, boobs crossed hoping she'll get it, or well, we're pretty much screwed.
BUT, all that aside, I could not be more proud of her and her artwork. So today instead of the usual pretty little pin up girls, I'm sharing with you the amazing artwork my daughter submitted for her college portfolio. For those of you familiar with VCU it's one of the top art schools in the country and thankfully right here in Richmond where we live. Lil' bit has wanted to go there since she was old enough to pick up a colored pencil. I hope you'll enjoy the display, I know I'm Mom but I think it's pretty damn amazing!
Being the proud Mommy that I am, I'd encourage you all to click on the images to see them in a larger size :)
