A Home Wanted
As I haven't done anything for DARG for a while now, and as they have so many new dogs and cats up for adoption, I thought I must really do another painting.
This is Sledge. He is a cross Husky something and was apparently abandoned by his owner.
It always amazes me how human beings can be so callous about their fellow creatures. We domesticate them to such a degree that they become totally reliant on us for all their needs, and then idiots like this owner decide they don't want them anymore!
I believe we share this beautiful planet with our fellow creatures and our intellect does not give us dominion and lording rights over them.
I hope Sledge finds someone who will care for him.

Kapan Waktu Itu Akan Datang..??
Walopun blog yang jarang update, Just a Blog senantiasa aku update. Tepat tanggal 3 November kemarin, Just a Blog Ulang Tahun yang pertama (telat banget...). Sampai saat ini (termasuk postingan yang ini) jumlah postingan Just a Blog sudah mencapai 305 postingan. Jumlah yang cukup lumayan.Tapi sampai saat ini, aku belum pernah mendapatkan apa itu yang namanya keuntungan (baca uang) dari nge-blog (termasuk blog2ku yang lain juga) padahal begitu banyak kesempatan yang bisa didapat dari nge-blog. Ambil contoh dari program PTR (paid to review) yang kemarin2 sering aku mereject job2 yang aku dapat.
Linkworth, Blogvertise, Reviewme, SponsoredReviews adalah beberapa program PTR yang aku ikuti. Kecuali dari SponsoredReviews, (Just a Blog direject, hehehehehehe....) aku pernah mendapatkan job. Bahkan blog pertamaku yang sudah aku tinggalkan hampir 1 tahun ini, dapat job dari LinkWorth (advertisernya gak liat2 apa ya..??). Saat aku posting ini, setidaknya ada 4 job dari Blogvertise dan ReviewMe yang menunggu apakah aku trima ato aku reject lagi??.
Sampai kapan aku akan terus menolak job yang diberikan padaku??
Pengen.. aku juga pengen mendapatkan "sedikit upah" dari nge-blog, terlebih dari program PTR. Jika melihat job2 kemarin yang aku dapat tapi aku reject, buat aku nilai yang aku peroleh lebih dari cukup.
Kapan ya aku mulai bisa menerima job yang aku dapat?? Apakah setelah postingan ini?? Atokah masih menunggu beberapa waktu lagi?? Atokah malah gak sama sekali??

DAYS WITH JFK
Yes, I was with him twice. The first time in October of 1958, when, as a Senator he was hosted at a reception in the Massasoit Hotel in Spencer, Massachusetts, where I took this picture of him and Mrs. Kennedy as they left.
The next time was on Sunday, November 24, 1963, when I spent 18 hours in a crowd that passed throught the Rotunda of the Capital at about 2 Monday morning. We were fortunate to be given extra time in the presence of the body because the crowd had to remain in place while Mrs. Kennedy paid a late night visit to the casket. It's never stopped seeming like yesterday.
WE WERE TROJANS
That day in November of 1963 reminds me of the loss of Troy as related in the Aeneid.
There was Panthus,who'd come unscathed through the Greek barrage. He was a son of Othrys, priest of Apollo's temple on the citadel. He was holding his holy emblems of office, and was hanging on to the images of his defeated gods and dragging his young grandson along as he rushed in panic for the gates.

My Prize
Yesterday I picked up my wonderful prize for coming second in James Parker's Windows to the Words challenge blog!
All the way from the USA, arriving safely in Cape Town (we never know whether anything will get to its destination or not!), here are the two marvellous paintings - the hummingbird is a tiny little painting which will sit next to me in my art room.

Quinces and Walnuts
My computer was non functional for 3 days this week. Our single, state run telecommunications service took its own sweet time about restoring lines in our area, and my service provider was not amused when I asked her if I needed to take up writing letters and using the post office again! Absolutely no sense of humour.
And with Summer finally here, life seems to get very active, so not much painting gets done.
I did, however, manage to paint from a rather nice pic taken from Dana Marie's Inspiration all Around us blog, of quinces and nuts - I called them walnuts - I think that's what they are.
Now she has another amazing pic posted, so hopefully I will get to that one in the next week!
