Oba: The Last Samurai (2011)



In 1944, the American military lands on the shores of Saipan. Refusing to commit suicide with his superiors or be forced into camps for prisoners of war, Captain Oba Sakae (Takenouchi Yutaka) leads a group of his men and other similarly minded local residents into the mountains. Even after hearing reports of the Japanese military’s surrender, Oba dismisses the reports as propaganda and continues to launch guerilla attacks against the American soldiers, earning him the nickname “The Fox”. Soon, even the American commander who’s charged with the task of capturing Oba comes to admire his persistent enemy.

Paranormal Activity 2: Tokyo Night (2010)



The Yamano family lives in a secluded home in a remote Tokyo residential area. Their 27-year-old daughter Haruka (Noriko Aoyama) suffered a compound fracture in a car accident while traveling in America. Haruka returns home in a wheelchair. There to meet her is her younger brother 19-year-old Koichi (Aoi Nakamura), her younger brother. Their father is away from the Yamano resident due to a business trip abroad. Koichi is left to take of his sister for until she can walk again. Not long after, strange occurrences happen in the Yamano home. Haruka’s wheelchair, which was left in her room, is found in another room. Their is salt found spread around their house. Koichi becomes uneasy by these events and, because of this, he persuades his sister to set up a video camera in her room. The video camera is connected to a computer screen so Koichi can see what is going on and, if necessary, run to Haruka’s room. What Koichi discovers is beyond anything he could have imagined. Noises at midnight, a cup on a table breaks, even a friend, who never gets scared, becomes terrified. The situation worsens with Haruka and Koichi threatened directly. Finally, a terrible fact is revealed...



Shirome (2010)



Horror mockumentary starring all six members of the idol group, Momoiro Clover. There is the ghost named "Shirome" who only grants a pure wish in an abandoned school. It is said if the wish is not pure, the person who makes the wish is dragged into the hell by the ghost. One of the members, Takagi Reni, said,"This is a movie, but there is no acting, nor lines. So, you can enjoy natural expressions of us".

Goemon (2009)

Akira (1988)

A hostage case occurs in the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police Department. Head of the Metropolitan Police Department Tamaru (Toru Shinagawa), second in charge Muneo Hasegawa (Jun Kunimura) and 12 other high ranking officers are all held hostage in the conference room. A police squad and SIT (special investigation team) surround the conference room. The motive of a hostage taker is not clear. The first person aware of the hostage situation is Takeru Kanbe (Mitsuhiro Oikawa) who accidentally bumped into the hostage taker. Takeru then contacts partner Ukyo Sugishita (Takeru Kanbe). Ukyo thinks the most important thing is to know what’s occuring inside conference room. With the help of Mamoru Yonezawa (Seiji Rokkaku) of the crime laboratory investigation section and Kohei Jinkawa (Ryuuji Harada ) from ex-special command team, Ukyo works out a secret plan.



The Kunoichi: Ninja Girl (2011)

This Town's Children (2011)



Milking a little more out of the popular 2010 NHK drama, Sono machi no kodomo (the movie version) edits and distills the original TV footage into feature length. Like Before Sunrise, the story follows a couple of 20 somethings over a long night. In this case, though there is much less of the slacker romance and chemistry of Before Sunrise and a much more didactic dealing with the trauma of the 1995 Great Hanshin earthquake. Yuji (Moriyama Mirai) meets cute with Mika (Sato Eriko) at the Sannomiya Station in Kobe. They wander the streets of Kobe talking of life and their respective childhood traumas. The night leads into the day of the 15th anniversary of earthquake. Yuji moves on and Mika goes to the big public memorial. Moriyama and Sato give their best – Moriyama himself having witnessed the earthquake’s destruction of Kobe as a child. They develop an easygoing natural feeling relationship, but the endless talk they are burdened with by screenwriter Watanabe Aya makes the getting there a bit of a slog.

Happy Together: All About My Dog (2011)



This story unfolds 8 years after 'Battle of Hwangsanbeol', which destroyed Baekjae, when Silla-Tang Dynasty union attacks Goguryeo. Translator Ichiro Tadano (Nao Omori) decides not to have a dog. when he was young, he cared for a dog named Saba as if the dog was his younger brother, but the dog was killed in a car accident. His wife Masato (Nanako Matsushima) brings home a Labrador dog named Lucky to their new mansion to raise. Ichiro opposes the idea, but Masato insists they have the dog.Lucky is a very smart dog. Lucky does not respond, unless people call his name. In the afternoons, Lucky stays with Ichiro after Masato goes out for work. Ichiro begins to open his mind to Lucky and eventually has a warm and strong relationship with Lucky, but then Ichiro gets sick. Because of Ichiro's illness the couple experiences hard times. Lucky is the one to save them.

Tomorrow's Joe (2011)



There, alcholic ex-boxer Danpei Tange (Teruyuki Kagawa) notices Joe Yabuki’s talents as a boxer. But then, Joe gets into trouble and is sentenced into the youth detention center. In the youth detention center, Joe gets into a brawl and then is knocked out by Toru Rikiishi (Yusuke Iseya) who is a champion caliber professional boxer. While incarcerated, Joe gets special training from Danpei Tange through letters. Upon Joe’s release, he quickly becomes an elite boxer and famous for a devastating cross counter. Meanwhile, Toru Rikiishi is also released from prison and quickly resumes his boxing career. Toru finally gets his shot at the world championship belt, but before that, Toru wants a match with Joe Yabuki. The two men enter the ring…



Vengeance Can Wait (2010)



In a row of wooden municipal houses in the countryside, Hidenori Yamane (Tadanobu Asano) & Nanase Ogawa (Minami) lives together under the same roof. The roommates co-exist in a tense & awkward state. Every night Hidenori hides in the attic and peeks through a hole into Nanase’s room, while thinking of the cruelest ways to inflict revenge. Meanwhile, Nanase, who wears outdated sweaters and glasses, refers to Hidenori as her “brother” (even though they are not related) and is aware he is peeking at her at night. They sleep on the same bunk bed but do not have sex. There was a case that happened 10 years ago and since that time Nanase awaits for the worst form of punishment. One day, a couple moves into their neighborhood and a delicate crack starts to emerge between their closed off relationship.
