THINK COOL ON A HOT DAY (Spencer Flashback)
Cutting ice on Moose Pond, Spencer, MA. Grove of Pines in the background is the Town's Public Park and Beach area. All those trees were blown down in September, 1938 during the Great New England Hurricane. Mansion on the hilltop at left belonged to Rufus Sibley, a local dairyman and owner of a large department store in Rochester, NY. The Bemis icehouse is on the further shore. No Maytag repairman needed in those days.
